America Ready for Rampage?
“A lot of American fans don’t realize that the popularity I have now in America is not new to me,” he said. “I’m just as popular, if not more, in Japan. So I don’t notice a difference; all I know is that the attention I used to get in Japan, I’m getting in my own town, so it’s really nothing new.”
However this wasn’t Japan, and instead of being a “Chuck Liddell,” he beat the real, beloved Liddell, and Rampage found out the difference in a hurry. After knocking out the reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion for his belt he was received by a chorus of boos by the partisan sellout crowd.
“You can’t boo a man for doing his job,” said Jackson. “I did my job and then I felt I was getting punished for it. But it’s all good, it’s just gonna make me stronger.
horse tack trunk just don’t know a lot about me. I’ve been treated unfairly my whole life, and it makes me train harder and gives me more determination to do ugly to my opponents.”
Rampage is one the MMA’s fiercest and most intimidating fighters, but is also one of the most down to earth people around. He has taken his new found fame in the States in stride.
“I can’t dwell on this, because if I do and don’t train hard, then Henderson will kick my ass, and I can’t let that happen,” stated a motivated Rampage.
The Henderson that he is referring to is Dan “Hollywood” Henderson, who is the reigning Pride Light Heavyweight and Middleweight Champion. They will be facing off September 8th at
horse tack trunk 75 in England. This will be a record setting night, as each fighter looks to unify the Light Heavyweight Champion belts and become the undisputed 205-pound champion of the world.
“He’s very tough guy, and I think it’s gonna be a good fight,” said Rampage. “I do want to fight the best in the world to prove that I’m the best, and if I fall short, who cares,” he said. “I’ll get back up and go again.”
The current champion is excited not only for this fight, but if he were able to win, he has an opportunity to avenge three of his losses, against two former Pride foes. And don’t think that Rampage hasn’t thought about having the opportunity of fighting them again.
“I would love it,” said Jackson of fighting Wanderlei Silva (who beat him twice in PRIDE) and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, the current
horse tack trunk Ranked Light Heavyweight fighter in the world.“ That would make everything good and some of my prayers would be answered…if I can get in the cage with them again.”
But fist thing’s first for Rampage. He has a tough fight against Henderson, which he is a slight favorite (-140/+110). He plans to put on an exciting and action packed show.
